What People are Saying

"MPC Energy offered great advice on my new heating system, including funding options, which I am very grateful for. I had been without a heating system for a long time and had been at a loss as to what I should do next. They were then very quick off the mark to get the air source heat pump installation planned. The heating system has been without a glitch since installation."

— Mrs Davies

"What can I say but MPC Energy were excellent from start to finish. The guys did a fantastic job for which we are extremely grateful for. Thoroughly recommend!"

— Mr Turner

"We were wanting underfloor insulation in our house to increase it’s energy performance rating. From start to finish they were extremely professional. MPC provided a very competitive quote. The lads who carried out the insulation did an excellent job to a very high standard. Customer service from start to finish by Megan was first class. I would highly recommend this company."

FAQs

  • ECO4

If your property has an EPC rating between F and D and you receive certain government benefits, ECO4 could provide free grants for insulation, solar panels, a new boiler, an air source heat pump or an electrical heating system. Find out more on our ECO4 page.

    LA Flex

If you don’t receive the right government benefits for ECO4 eligibility, you might still qualify for the same home improvements under the Local Authority Flex scheme. MPC is authorised to provide LA Flex improvements in certain regions for people who are living in fuel poverty or are on a low income and vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home. Find out more on our LA Flex page.

    GBIS

The Great British Insulation Scheme offers one free or reduced-price insulation to households with an EPC rating of D or lower. Find out more on our GBIS page.

Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan

If you own your primary residence in Scotland, you can get a free grant up to £7,500 for a clean heating system (e.g. a heat pump) or an energy efficient measure (e.g. insulation). You can also get another £7,500 as an interest-free loan, while rural and island homes can get a further £1,500 added to their grant.

MPC can apply for any of this funding on your behalf for free. Just go to our Apply for Funding page, and we can get you started.

  • Depending on your home and the type of grant you’re eligible for, you could receive:

    • An A-rated gas boiler replacement

    • First time central heating

    • An air-source or hybrid heat pump

    • A High Heat Retention (HHR) electric storage heater

    • Loft, room in roof, cavity wall, solid wall or underfloor insulation

    • Solar panels

  • MPC Energy can survey your home and apply for any of this funding on your behalf for free. Just go to our Apply for Funding page, and we can get you started.

  • The ECO4 scheme gets its funding from both the UK government and from energy companies who are obligated to improve energy efficiency and tackle fuel poverty.

Funding for Local Authority Flex also comes from energy companies. This scheme identifies and aids people who fall short of the eligibility for the ECO scheme, but would still benefit from it.

While GBIS is overseen by the energy regulator Ofgem, the independent energy suppliers contribute the funds, determine which retrofit projects get funded and decide how much funding they provide.

The Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan Scheme is funded by the Scottish Government, and not by the UK government, which is why it is only available for existing properties in Scotland.

  • We can provide installations anywhere in Scotland if you qualify for ECO4, GBIS or Home Energy Scotland Grant and Loan funding.

We can also work on your home under the LA Flex scheme if your home is in one of these councils: Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Dumfries & Galloway, Dundee City, Fife, Moray, North Ayrshire, Perth & Kinross, Renfrewshire, South Ayrshire or The Highlands.

  • You won’t pay for installation or labour if you choose MPC Energy. However, your home upgrade may not be completely free, depending on the level of funding you qualify for.

After surveying your home and applying for grants, we will let you know what you’re entitled to for free, and how much you will have to pay for other home improvements.
